Why headlamps go yellow

Factory headlamp lenses are polycarbonate plastic with a thin UV-resistant film bonded on top. Years of tropical sun and rainwater break that film down. Once it's gone, the polycarbonate itself oxidises — yellowing, hazing, and (worst) scattering your night-time light pattern badly enough to fail a JPJ inspection.

What we do

1. Mask. Surrounding paint and rubber are taped off to protect them from compound.
2. Wet sand. Stepping through 800 → 1500 → 3000 grit until the oxidised layer is gone.
3. Compound. A two-step machine polish restores optical clarity.
4. Degrease. An IPA wipe lifts polishing residue so the sealant bonds properly.
5. Seal. A UV-stable topcoat is applied and left to cure under IR for thirty minutes. This is the step most roadside operators skip — without it, the haze returns in weeks.

Warranty

The UV sealant is warranted for 12 months. If significant yellowing returns inside that period, bring the car back and we'll re-seal at no charge.
